The Lawrence Dance Academy

Start Your Dance Journey

We offer professional dance tuition in Highland, Scottish National, Ballet, Tap, Disco/Freestyle, Cheer, Theory/Teacher Training, Choreography, and Pre-School  for the 2/3 year olds.

What we offer

Our Classes

The world-famous, traditional highlight of Scottish artistic performance. More physically demanding than cheer and as technically demanding as ballet, you can either train to compete or just get an amazing full body fitness workout

Tap

The clippity-clap-snap dance everyone knows and loves, popularised by Fred Astaire and adored by Broadway and the West End”

Scottish National

More stylised and less rigid than Highland, Scottish National dances emphasise character over technique”

Disco-Freestyle

Formerly known as Disco, brought to the world in the 1970s on the back of ABBA, The Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever, now it is more likened to contemporary

Ballet

The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet. The world’s most famous dance style and the foundation for contemporary, freestyle and jazz.

Pre-School

A fun, intuitive and encouraging introduction to movement, body control, rhythm and, of course, making friends

Students progress through UK Dance examination grades which are available in all styles of the art. SQA qulifications are also attainable which provide UCAS points towards applications to university.
